We understand it may be upsetting or frustrating to be turned down and we want to help you make sense of what may have happened.
Why we're being careful
We take a conservative approach to decisions. This means we’re a little stricter than some other providers, at least for now.
We also want to be upfront:
We don’t manually review applications at this stage
Our decision is final for now, but you’re absolutely welcome to reapply in 3 months, and we’d love to see you do so.
Common reasons we might decline an application
Some of the most common factors that may affect your eligibility include:
Missed a payment on a credit product within the past 2 years
Missed payments on at least one account listed on your credit report
Being on a Debt Management Plan
Having a County Court Judgment (CCJ)
Not sure if this applies to you?
If none of these sound familiar, we recommend checking your credit report to make sure everything is accurate.
You can review your report for free with Experian — it’s one of the agencies we use when assessing applications.
What's next?
If you’ve been declined, it doesn’t mean you’re ineligible forever. We encourage you to reapply in 3 months, especially if your circumstances have changed or improved.
