What should I do if I suspect I've been targeted by a scam?

Updated over a week ago

If you think you’ve been targeted by a scam, follow these important steps to protect yourself and your information:

1. Block Your Card

If you believe you’ve shared your card details or entered them on a suspicious website, immediately block your card using the Yonder app to secure your account.

2. Review What Happened

Take a moment to check the details:

  • Did you receive a suspicious message or call asking for information?

  • Did you click on an ad or link where the merchant’s name looks different or suspicious?

  • Look out for spelling or grammar mistakes in emails or messages, and check if the sender’s email domain matches the official merchant.

3. Contact Yonder

If you think you are a victim or target of a scam, please contact us right away. You can reach us via the chat in your Yonder app or email us at [email protected].

4. Explain the Incident

Tell us what happened and your concerns so we can investigate. For your security, we may issue you new card details and share advice on how to stay protected from scams.

5. Report the Scam

Even if you haven’t lost money, it’s important to report scams. Besides notifying Yonder, please report the incident to Action Fraud, the UK’s National Fraud & Cyber Crime Reporting Centre, at Action Fraud’s website.

If you notice anything suspicious on your account or have any concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch via the Yonder app or email [email protected].
