How split the bill works

All you need to know about how requesting money from friends towards purchases works

Updated this week

By splitting the bill, you allow a friend to pay part of your credit card bill. For any purchase made on your Yonder card, anyone, anywhere can instantly pay you back via bank transfer.

Here’s how it works:

  1. The most anyone can pay is the total amount of the split transaction.

  2. When you receive a repayment from a friend, it will be paid off against your bill which is always applied against your oldest transaction. That means payments can be applied to a different bill than the one where you were charged for the original transaction.

  3. If the split transaction gets refunded or cancelled, Yonder won't be able to repay anyone who may have already paid you back.

  4. Splitting the bill does not change the fact you’re still required to pay off this transaction. Yonder are not responsible for collecting money from others.

  5. By sharing the payment request, you understand that your first name, Yonder sort code and account number will be visible to the payer.

If you split your transaction with another Yonder member, they will not be able to pay their share from their Yonder card.
