If your TFL payment didn’t go through, it might be because there’s an unpaid fare sitting on your TFL account. TFL won’t let you tap in again until that’s been cleared.
This can happen if:
Your card was declined for a previous journey
You tapped in or out incorrectly
You didn’t have enough funds at the time of travel
How to fix it
You’ll need to log in to your TFL online account https://contactless.tfl.gov.uk and settle the unpaid fare. Once that’s done, you should be able to travel again as normal.
