If your first contactless payment didn’t go through, don’t worry — there are a couple of common reasons this might happen:
1. Your physical card hasn’t been activated
Make sure you’ve activated your physical card in the Yonder app. If it’s not activated, any type of payment, including contactless, will be declined.
To activate your card:
Tap Membership
Swipe left on your digital card
Tap Activate card
2. Your first transaction wasn’t chip and PIN
For security reasons, your very first payment needs to be made using chip and PIN. Once that’s done, contactless payments will work as normal.
